The client ran its entire operation through a hotel booking site. It had customers from all the corner of country. Through a merge between customers and hoteliers, it earned commissions and made a good profit for a long time. The customers also had resonance with the client and the business has been steady over a few years now. The entire operation of the business has been run through a SaaS-based resort reservation application offering customers a complete view over guides for local and tourist destinations, the latest hotel amenities, in-room dining menus and more. The service is automated to make hotel booking easy equipped with a centralized control system offering flexibility to the owner to update information about the services in the application. Users were contented with the service provided by the owner. The client enjoys good certification from a dozen of rating sites too.
The business was smooth for long years. Hotel booking applications are quite common these days. But, the owner of the business wanted this application to be feature-rich, functional and agile with a strong foundation support. At the same time, it was observed that the expected ROI has been reduced from 7.1% to 6.5% in revenue. As they realised it recently, they approached us to check with the issue.
Our team at Bytes Technolab initiated a thorough research to discover its real cause of revenue decline. Our UI/UX designers checked that carefully in consultation with our developers and engineers. We found the online hotel booking app missed a lot of essential features and also its key hurdle was likely due to its poor performance of the site. The online portal also lacked an essential feature that helped customers make comparison of prices of hotel, rooms and other services.
The client had also suggested us to emphasize upon a hotel price comparison application intended to provide the right information to its clients. Our team connected with the client several times during the project and confirmed the best features to improve user-friendliness and more benefits.
After the project roadmap, we tended to migrate the old site to the newest and functional web framework Node.js and React.js. However, the complication for us was to actively transfer the site to the safe and robust web framework without any hurdle. We kept in mind not to lose any important data that could impede client relationship management. As described, we transferred the site from PHP to Node.js and React.js and did the migration successfully. Also, we confirmed it no longer did price scrapping of third party websites like AirBnB and Turo. It did well with pricing structure for different services as offered by hotels and resorts.
Not only did we fix these key issues, we also made sure the online hotel booking platform get additional benefits to improve the customer experience and give them good value of their time and money. The platform has been integrated with Stipe payment gateway. We also tweaked the booking process and added Google Analytics to derive robust analytics report for the performance improvement. The client was satisfied for what we did for them and brought a great length of efficiency and performance to their customers.
