About the Client
Scrubs & Beyond was founded in 2000 with an aim to transform healthcare clothing retail inside out. Seeing an opportunity to raise the bar and provide a transformative experience catering to discerning healthcare professionals, Scrubs & Beyond has grown its business to become the largest retailer of healthcare apparel and accessories in the country by acquiring two uniform companies in 2013.
The result was a retail experience that elevated medical professional essentials beyond the practical and added a much-needed sense of humanity that was otherwise missing in the industry.
Project Objectives
With 114 stores in 30 states across the USA, it is apparent that the online store of Scrubs and Beyond would be having huge traffic at all times. This makes it even more important for the brand to provide the best possible experience through the eCommerce platform.
And this exactly was the area of concern for the client. The client came to us for revamping their existing eCommerce web app.
The Challenge
The heavy traffic on the eCommerce platform was causing a lot of performance issues and it was clearly affecting the online buying experience. The old architecture was not able to sustain that in the long run.
The client wanted to revamp it completely so the Magento team had to go through the analysis of the current system architecture and documentation of it. Moreover, a few existing extensions of PHP 8.1 were no longer supported to we had to update them manually.
The whole process was a bit time-consuming given the timeline of the project. But we love challenges and experience is rewarding in these times, isn’t it?
The Solution
Once the team was formed, they worked in synergy with the client’s team for a better understanding. A roadmap was created along with a detailed requirement list prepared by our Business Analysts. Multiple new features using the trendiest tools and technologies were implemented to empower the eCommerce platform so that it could offer the products and services exactly the way the owner wanted.
We performed code review, Magento 2 upgradation, and PHP version upgrades along with standard practices to revamp the whole online platform of Scrubs and Beyond. This is what was actually needed to increase Google Page Score.

- Tax automation tool integration which helped to achieve compliance with transactional taxes and all other tax types.
- Implementation of Yopto reward points system driving customer retention and loyalty.

Results
We helped the client to improve a user-friendly Magento site that is now able to sustain an average of 5000 requests per minute. Moreover, the site speed was tremendously increased and any customer could place an order within a couple of minutes.
