planet-sec-title-arrow Problem Statement

The client came to us to change the website inside out as the old website was built with legacy technologies. Somewhere down the track, it could have improved user experience throughout the website. As it scaled over time, performance issues resurfaced that caused severe problems in the website experience.

planet-sec-title-arrow Challenges

  • No site architecture or programming documentation was available for the old website built with Ruby on Rails.
  • As the number of tracks and racers increased over time, monolithic website architecture caused a lack of team management and brought vagueness to the roles of admin and track operator.
  • The old website felt outdated due to evolving times and the needs of the participants when buying subscriptions and memberships. Previously, it was way too complicated and time-consuming.

planet-sec-title-arrow Solution

  • During the discovery phase, the team prepared documentation after comprehensive analysis of the old website code and architecture.
  • To add modern functionalities faster, the web developers first created global design components to reuse them to create various modules.
  • The developers created a microsite architecture and configuration setup. This helped track operators manage their landing pages to update event details and tracking information for the racers.
  • The team integrated a business mailing system using AWS SES (Amazon Simple Email Service) and an SMS system using AWS SNS (Amazon Simple Notification Service). It helps racers to receive important notifications during the sign-up process and beyond.
  • Directus integration works like an admin panel that helps users manage the whole platform’s digital content, flow, etc. Google map integrated to show all the 700 tracks in the USA and Canada on the map. The team also added geo-location functionality that shows nearby tracks on the maps based on the current location of interested racers.

planet-sec-title-arrow Result

  • The auto-renew feature made membership hassle-free for renewals.
  • Generic and track-specific leaderboards inspired budding racers to join.
  • Simplified membership and pre-sign process improved customer satisfaction.
  • Geo-location-based track listing results in 10x engagement with nearby racers.

Redeveloped a responsive website using the powerful fusion of React.js & Next.js, as it was previously built in RoR.

Significant form submission upgrades and modern features implemented for modern racers.

Microsite configuration setup that empowered track operators to update information for individual tracks.
