Navratri is not just a 9-day-long celebration of dance and music, but it is considered an important Hindu festival. Navratri is all about worshiping Goddess Durga and her nine forms, therefore known as Nav-ratri meaning ‘nine nights.’
In short, Navratri is all about Dandiya, Garba, music, lights, colorful and vibrant outfits, and happy faces!
And to celebrate this, Bytes Technolab organized a special Garba event. The event was organized in the office banquet area where 150+ members of the Bytes Technolab family gathered for one mutual reason.
The Garba Event
This Garba event was the result of some thoughtful and dedicated efforts from the HR and management teams.
To give more Navratri vibes and feels, the whole office was decorated with decals and stickers of Dandiya, Garba couples, and musical instruments.
The stage was set and all the people gathered across the hall by the given time. The event was organized in three sections:
- Birthday celebration for the Sept. month
- Garba competition and
- Prize distribution (based on the best group, best attire, and Garba king and queen)
And at last, the event was going to end with delicious snacks (Fafda-Jalebi).
Birthday Celebration
The event began with a cake-cutting ceremony and the Bytes family celebrated the Birthdays of those 9 people whose birthdays fell in the month of September.
A huge chocolate cake was ordered with the names of all written on it. All of them had huge smiles on their faces as all the 150+ employees cheered for them. There was a sense of happiness in the air and everyone was excited, as the Garba event was soon going to begin.
The Fun Begins
As mentioned, the Garba event was meant to be a competition that was divided into different sections. Four groups:
- Rumjum Walkies,
- Nathkhat Khelaiyas,
- Thanganaat, and
- Sanedo
Registered their names for the competition. All the participants were all ready to compete with each other.
A total of 39 participants including 27 males and 12 females were about to clash for the ultimate prize.
After some fiercely Garba moves, we had our winners ready for:
- The Best Group: Thanganaat
- The Bytes Garba King: Karan Bhatia (Project Manager)
- The Bytes Garba Queen: Riya Desai (React JS- Trainee)
- The Bytes Best Attire- Male: Jaydeep Modhera (Sr. Software Engg.)
- The Bytes Best Attire- Female: Hetal Kanani (Front-End Developer)
The Price Distribution
Our HR manager came forward and thanked all the individuals and teams who had worked tirelessly to make this event successful. To honor them, these winners were presented with gift hampers that included deodorant and perfume for the boys and face wash, body lotion, nail polish, hair clips, lip balm, body spray, and wet wipes for girls.
Lastly, the spark, the vibes, and everything from start to finish about the 4th Oct 2022 evening was a blast!
Fafda-Jalebi is a must…
After an exhausting Garba session, it was time to relax and gain some energy!
And for that, the management had ordered Fafda-Jalebi, a dish that every gujju eats during the festival of Dusshera, which was falling the day after.
The new joiners also had a great time interacting with their colleagues and making new friends. Undoubtedly, a fitting end to a “Perfect Evening” in so many aspects.
