About us
We are looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer with 6 months to 1 year of experience or relevant internship/project experience in cloud technologies and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and Linux administration. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced DevOps engineers, contribute to infrastructure automation, and gain hands-on exposure to modern cloud-native technologies.
Roles & responsibilities
- Support the management of cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch), ensuring environments are secure, scalable, and well-maintained under senior guidance.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining Nginx and Apache web servers including virtual hosts, reverse proxies, SSL/TLS setup, and performance optimization.
- Support database management for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB including installation, backups, user management, replication, and basic performance tuning.
- Assist in deploying and maintaining PHP and Node.js applications on production servers using tools like PM2, Supervisor, and Composer.
- Assist in maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD to support efficient software deployment.
- Assist in monitoring applications and infrastructure using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana. Help identify and troubleshoot performance issues including server health, disk usage, and application response times.
- Write and maintain Shell/Bash scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as deployments, backups, log rotation, cron jobs, and operational maintenance.
- Follow DevOps security best practices and assist in maintaining secure cloud environments.
- Use Git for source code management and collaborate effectively using branching and version control best practices.
- Work closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to support deployments, infrastructure updates, and application releases
- Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues while learning root cause analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
Skills required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 6 months to 1 year of experience, internship, or academic projects in DevOps, Cloud, or System Administration.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu/Debian preferred) and command-line tools.
- Basic knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Security Groups, Route 53, RDS, and CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with web server configuration for Nginx and/or Apache (virtual hosts, reverse proxy, SSL).
- Basic knowledge of database management for MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Basic knowledge of scripting using Shell/Bash.
- Understanding of Git and version control workflows.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and exposure to tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
- Basic understanding of Docker and containerization concepts.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, firewalls, SSH, SSL certificates).
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Good to Have
- Internship or academic project experience in DevOps, Cloud Computing, or System Administration.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification is a plus.
- Experience with tools like fail2ban, Certbot, PM2, Supervisor, or log rotation.
- Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Basic understanding of load balancing and auto-scaling on AWS.
- Understanding of Python scripting is an added advantage.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Passion for learning new technologies and cloud-native DevOps practices.
